I almost quit blogging.
When I first started blogging, the only people who read my blog was my mom and my most loyal friends (you know who you are).
I've been blogging a little over a year, and let me tell you it has NOT been easy. I constantly feel like there is a million other things I should be doing as a wife and mom.
There's that pile of laundry that's been sitting on the couch for three days now. My car hasn't been washed in weeks. I'm not sure what day I'm on for dry shampoo in my hair. I haven't got more than five hours of sleep in months.
This begs the question, why the hell do I keep blogging?
If I can help and encourage just one person with their finances, it's all been worth it. It brings me joy, and it feels right. I'm knowledgeable in this area. I have a story. I've felt God putting it on my heart to start a blog for so long, and I finally took the leap a year ago.
I failed, tried something new, failed, tried something new (repeat process 100x), and then I FINALLY started to succeed.
If you're not seeing the results and success you want blogging, do a million different things, but do NOT quit.
If you are thinking about starting a blog but scared of failure, frustrated with their lack of blogging success, or looking for what the next step is to grow your seemingly stagnant blog, I FEEL YOU.
I have not shared with many people how hard this blogging journey has been for me.
I fail over and over, I feel like I'm being pulled in a million different directions, and I don't get near enough sleep, but when I see success it makes it all worth it.
That being said, I want to help you because I know what it is like, and I truly, truly want you to taste success.
I can't say this enough. I WISH I HAD KNOWN THESE 3 THINGS SOONER.
So, please, friend, take my advice. From someone who has been blogging for a year and is FINALLY starting to see a reward, don't just skim over this post.
Put everything else down, take your time reading this post, be encouraged, and then take action.
I'll say it again. Write these things down. Then, TAKE. ACTION.
It has taken me a year to implement these things. Don't let it take you a year. If you do these things, you WILL see growth.
Now that the information has been made available to you, it's ON YOU to implement it.

Stop apologizing. The truth is you don't owe anyone an apology for your passion, drive, or ambition.
Remember you are not perfect and you can't make everyone happy.
When you are trying to grow your blog, there is no such thing as living a balanced life. You will miss out on things, you will have to say no to more things, and you will have to manage your time impeccably well.
Now, I know these words are prime real estate for people to insert their judgments like..
"you shouldn't be blogging you should spend more time with your kids."
"how's your husband feel about you blogging all the time?"
I refuse to apologize. I love blogging, I love networking, and I feel most alive when I'm blogging.
Blogging may start as a hobby, but if you love it enough to make it a business, you need to treat it like one.
That means showing up everyday , taking responsibility for your results, and getting shit done even when you don't feel like it.
For me, this has meant early mornings, late nights, pushing through even when I feel exhausted, and undying support from an extremely loving and patient husband.
Taking your business seriously means investing in courses, training, and tools that are going to help you grow your business.
One course that I invested in was Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing! OBSESSED. The course creator, Michelle, went from 0 to $50,000 of affiliate marketing income!
She stresses that if you are trying to monetize your blog and you aren't taking advantage of affiliate marketing, you are leaving money on the table.
Affiliate marketing makes it possible to literally make money while you sleep. Doesn't get better than that.
If you're interested in trying her course, click here. I personally loved it, and I learned a lot.
No matter how new of a blogger you are, don't be afraid of monetization.
There are four main ways to monetize your blog-
Just like any person who is is business would do, I had to make an investment.
Up until this point, I have been running my blog with very little expenses (just the hosting fee and fee I pay for using good images in my posts). If you haven't started a blog yet, you will need to get hosting. Read my step-by-step tutorial on how to get your blog running in under 15 minutes.
I have done my research, and I know that Pinterest is the main way to increase blog traffic, and Instagram is great for blog branding. So what is the best way to grow these two platforms rapidly?
LET ME INTRODUCE YOU, DEAR FRIEND, TO TAILWIND.
Tailwind is a tool that bloggers use to schedule their Pinterest pins and Instagram posts at OPTIMAL times for traffic. Tailwind creates what is called a smart schedule based on YOUR SPECIFIC AUDIENCE'S ANALYTICS , and then it pins and posts for you at the best times based on when your audience is most engaged.
I'll admit, I was skeptical at first. I figured I would give the free trial a whirl, and if by some chance I saw some crazy results, I'd invest in it.
Well that " some chance" happened. I saw crazy results.
Tailwind grew my blog traffic by over 525% in one month.
Here is a snapshot of my blog analytics after investing in Tailwind-
I started using Tailwind in early September... can you tell!?
I had right around 5,000 pageviews in September, and in October I already have 10,000 PAGEVIEWS.
Guys. This is serious sh*%. I literally went from barely any views to 10,000 in ONE MONTH. This was a game-changer.
I'm a busy mom who works full-time. The absolute last thing I have time to do is pin my blog posts manually. .
Hell it's a stretch if I remember to eat 3x a day.
The great thing about Tailwind is that it does all the pinning for you, and it does so by creating what is called a smart schedule that pins your content at the most optimal times based on the performance on your account.
This is a snapshot of the smart schedule Tailwind created for me on Mondays.
The dark green outlined times are the suggested times that I have accepted, the green dotted are Tailwinds suggestions (that I haven't yet accepted), and light green are times I've input myself.
Tailwind allows you to create groups of boards that are similar.
If you find yourself trying to pin the same pin to multiple boards manually right now, this will be your life saver.
When you go to schedule a pin, you can select a group, and that pin will be scheduled to ALL the boards in that list.
This is a GREAT option for group boards. You can create a new group with all your Pinterest group boards and then every time you have a new blog post you can easily schedule it to pin to all those boards!
Tailwind makes it easy for you to repurpose/reschedule your best content.
You can create a loop and add all your best pins to that loop. Then you decide how often the posts are re-pinned, to what boards, and for how long (a couple months, a year, etc).
For instance, I have a holiday loop. I choose all my pins related to the holidays and add them to this loop, and set it to pin a certain number of times per day from October-December.
HUGE TIME SAVER, AND TIME IS MONEY.
Tailwind gives you key data to interpret and use to implement different strategies.
In order to grow, you need to know how your pins are performing, how many repins you are getting, and how many impressions your pins are making (your total reach).
SUCCESS IS IN THE DATA (NUMBERS), and that is exactly what Tailwind gives you.
Tailwind Tribes are a place to share your pins (content) with a bunch of people in your niche, and the goal is for everyone to re-pin each others content to help each other grow.
You also get data from every tribe you join that shows you the amount of re-shares your pins have received, and how many people have been reached.
In order to grow, you need help from other bloggers, and Tailwind knows that.
Tailwind is one tool that I can say is 1,000% worth the investment.
Click here for my affiliate link , you will get 100 free pins ( no credit card information needed or shizzz like that), and $15 off if you decide to upgrade your account!
Tailwind costs $9.99 per month (paid annually), and is worth every penny.
Don't forget you will get a month free through my link!
